To do something again and again in order to become better at it.
What are you practicing for today? School? Sports? Music? Career? We all strive in one way or another to perfect a skill or hobby or passion so that we are confident in our abilities to produce excellent results. We know to achieve these results we must practice again and again. Many of us wake up each morning with a goal in mind and begin practicing. But….. are we practicing the most important goal above all others; to “Love the Lord your God with ALL your heart and ALL your soul and with ALL your mind.” (Matthew 22:37)

Challenge yourself today to figure out what is most important to you. See how many times you practice for school, sports, music and career versus how many times you practice reading the Word of God, applying the Word of God and praying for others.

In Philippians 4:9 the bible says, “Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put into P-R-A-C-T-I-C-E. And the God of peace will be with you.”

And in 1 Corinthians 9:24-26, “Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win! All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize. So I run with purpose in every step.”

Don’t practice until you get it right. Practice until you can’t get it wrong.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, today I pray that you renew my mind and create in me a desire to practice the Word of God. I pray that you give me the courage and boldness to pray for others on a daily basis not only in private but in public places. I understand that I must practice again and again to produce excellent results. Lord Jesus, I promise today to practice for you above all my other goals.
