Monday Dig Deeper with NHiM~ Can God’s love for you be measured? That depends on your view. If all you compare it to is earthly love, which depends on the person, the relationship, their mood that day and circumstances, then maybe you’d feel it could be measured. BUT, if we remember that the conception of heavenly things is too much to comprehend for our earthly minds, then we’d realize that His love cannot be measured. Take for example, the ocean. Can you imagine being given the task of reporting the volume of water in any given ocean? Just try to picture yourself standing at the beach, at the edge of where the waves come in, and trying to measure with a ruler (even a big one!) the width of the ocean, or how deep the ocean goes (which of course changes depending on that portion of the ocean) or how long the ocean goes out…It’s impossible, right? But even God’s love for you is more VAST than the ocean.
If we are like a tree, with our roots firmly planted on His love, then we can pray God will show us the ‘extravagant dimensions’ of his love as we grow and flourish in a relationship with Him. God desires to live full, rich lives in Him. And it can be done! But our focus today must be on Him.
